Dapper Lou is a blog that I read regularly. In the article linked below, he does a very good job at describing the founding of the term Bespoke – Savile Row in London. Bespoke, which is short for Be Spoken For, is a long tradition of tailored clothing and fabrics that continues today. There are some places where fabric is still made to specific customer preferences making it the ultimate in bespoke clothing.

Doyle Design Fashions follows much of the bespoke process (fabric manufacturer is one that I don’t think I could achieve easily with velvet). Hand-made individually to a customer’s measurements with 10′s of thousands of options is what we are all about.
